Se cuvine sa fac cateva precizari, fara intentia de a intra in polemici religioase.
Pentru crestinul ortodox, muzica crestina se identifica cu muzica bizantina. Arta bizantina(implicit muzica bizantina) a fost creata pe parcursul mai multor secole cu un singur scop si anume acela de a atinge un nivel spiritual cat mai ridicat. Scopul a fost atins cu prisosinta, nicio alta arta nu a ajuns la un asemenea nivel de transcendental.
Exista multa muzica religioasa frumoasa, inaltatoare, dar pentru mine muzica bizantina reprezinta adevarata muzica crestina.
